Timeless Symphony: Unveiling the D-200 Deluxe Guitar Celebrating Two Million Serial Numbers

After an impressive 184 years, C. F. Martin & Co. is thrilled to present the remarkable D-200 Deluxe, marking our achievement of two million serial numbers. This extraordinary instrument, created in collaboration with renowned watchmaker Roland G. Murphy (RGM), beautifully captures the essence of time in its intricate design.

At its core, the D-200 Deluxe is a classic 14-fret Style 45 Dreadnought, transformed into a true work of art. The top is crafted from stunning bearclaw Engelmann spruce, featuring an aluminum rosette with elegant geometric patterns engraved using a refined technique called guilloché. These same patterns adorn the stainless steel tuning machine buttons, adding a touch of sophistication.

The back of the guitar is crafted from rare pre-CITES Brazilian rosewood, embellished with mesmerizing watch gears made from a combination of reconstituted stone, mother-of-pearl, bloodwood, Hawaiian koa, and ebony. The exquisite soundboard inlays showcase a minute track in mother-of-pearl, birdseye maple, flamed Hawaiian koa, and ebony, while the pickguard displays inlaid watch gears with a lustrous pearl finish. Another unique decorative detail is the triple-strand abalone pearl striping running along each side, reminiscent of early Spanish-inspired instruments by C. F. Martin Sr.

The ebony fingerboard, bound with maple, is a sight to behold. It features delicate inlays of watch gear mechanisms, showcasing the highest level of intricate craftsmanship. To complete the experience, each guitar comes with a specially designed RGM watch that matches the D-200's aesthetics and shares a matching serial number with the instrument.
